The Linux logical volume manager (LVM) provides advanced features for the management of storage, data redundancy, data archival, and simplified recovery techniques.
This 2-hour lab will cover everything from the basics of storage device management to the advanced implementations of data protection and recovery. It will:
- Include a series of lectures and hands-on lab activities using Red Hat Enterprise Linux 7 to give you a comprehensive understanding of the capabilities of LVM.
- Briefly cover LVM basics.
- Detail the new and emerging features including RAID, snapshots, thin provisioning, thin snapshots, snapshot merging, and LVM caching (i.e. SSDs over HDDs for performance).
