Tso, Michael

Michael Tso co-founded Cloudian and Gemini Mobile Technologies, and built business and engineering operations in the United States, Japan, and China. For more than 10 years, Cloudian and Gemini Mobile have provided mission-critical, carrier-grade infrastructure software that serves hundreds of millions of users. Currently, Cloudian is trailblazing hybrid cloud storage for the enterprise.

Prior to Cloudian, Michael led engineering for an e-commerce search engine at Inktomi, and designed a network congestion control system for KDDI, which later became an industry standard. As a co-GM and chief architect at Intel, he led the development of web acceleration technology and collaborated with Nokia on NarrowBand Sockets (marketed as Nokia SmartMessaging), which enabled the world’s first SMS ringtone download service. Michael also participated in Ubiquitous Computing research at Xerox’s Palo Alto Research Center, developing network software for the PARCTab, the world’s first wireless, location-aware, wearable tablet computer.
