At 6:00 this morning, hundreds of Summit attendees lined up at the starting line outside the Moscone Center. After a full day of sessions yesterday (and, for some, a late night out on the town afterward), these runners braved the early morning call to come out for the annual Red Hat Summit 5k.
Proceeds from this year’s race went to Girl Develop It, a non-profit organization that provides affordable and judgment-free opportunities for women interested in learning web and software development. This year, runners raised more than $3,600.
There was a lot of yawning at the starting line. But, as soon as the signal was given, runners were winding through the streets of San Francisco.
It was the perfect way for attendees to see the city and raise money for a worthy cause.
